GENERAL CONSTRUCTION DETAILS

ALAN MINI STEEL BUILDINGS

Following is a general description of how we construct our ALAN Mini Steel buildings.

Normally, these buildings are built without a floor. The is a continuous piece of angle iron mounted around the inside perimeter of the building. This track is pre-drilled every 4' OC or so for easy anchoring to your platform or slab.

Of course, we can provide the buildings with a floor, also. If a floor is provide it is built using 2"x6" 12 GA 'C' sections running every 24" OC. The floor joists are covered with 26 GA corrugated steel decking which is then covered with a single layer of 1/8" steel plating for the floor surface. From there, you can put tile, linoleum or just leave the floor bare.

2"x6" 14 GA 'C' sections running horizontally 24" OC. Corner columns made of formed 12 GA steel to provide anchor support for both endwalls & sidewalls. Exterior siding to be 26 GA "Hi-Rib" steel siding as manufactured by BHP. Exterior siding to be coated with a baked enamel finish. Colors available include Tan & White. Interior to be finished with 1 layer of 1/2" gyp board which will be taped, sanded & painted with a semi-gloss paint. Vinyl coated drywall glued to the drywall underlayment optional.

2"x8" 12 GA 'C' sections 24" OC running length wise. Roof to covered with 26 GA corrugated galvanized steel roofing. Similar with the walls, we use steel roofing because it gives the building rigidity and strength. Ceiling to be a nail-up style consisting of 1/2" drywall, painted Off-White, screwed directly to the roof purlins.

Every screw used to hold the roof metal in place will be given a dab of caulking to insure there are no leaks in the building. The doors & windows are caulked to keep water out.

No larger than 24' long and/or 13'6" wide in any 1 section. Multiple units can be joined together to form larger complexes.
